Human Rights

Everyone likes to talk about human rights. What are they?

human rights
noun fundamental rights, esp. those believed to belong to an individual and in whose exercise a government may not interfere, as the rights to speak, associate, work, etc.

Think about these questions:

  1. What are your basic human rights in Canada?
  2. What document outlines your human rights in Canada?
  3. Are they different than human rights anywhere else?
  4. Does it make sense that "fundamental rights" can differ from one place to another?
  5. Where would a Christian go to find out what his/her basic human rights are?
    • What would these rights be?

Considering all these things, make a list of 10 rights that you think are or should be basic to all human beings everywhere. Be prepared to present them to the class.
