Federal Political Parties

Pick one of the federal political parties, found in the list of parties on the Elections Canada website. Each party may be done by only one group of two people. There are 16 possible parties so there's no reason for any two groups to do the same party.

Answer the following questions:

  1. What is the name of the party?
  2. When was the party established/eligible for registration?
  3. Who is the party leader?
  4. What are the party's main ideas/platforms?

You may have to go to the party's own website to figure this out.

Be prepared to tell the class about these platforms.

  1. What is the party's reason for being?
    • Is it an environmental party?
    • Is it for politer politics?
    • Is it to promote the rights of the natives?
    • Is it about Western independence?
  2. Is it one of the main parties or a "third party"?
  3. Do you think the aims of this party are Christian? Why or why not?
  4. If you could vote, would you support this party? Why or why not?
